In extreme environments like Saudi Arabia, traditional Air Conditioning technology is inefficient and not optimized for hot/humid versus hot/dry regions. In the "hottest" regions of the world (i.e. Middle East / North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Indian sub-continent), where temperatures can exceed 110°F and air conditioning power consumption accounts for 70% of buildings total electricity demand (in Saudi Arabia), efficient and reliable air conditioning is essential.

With the support of ARPA-E, the Department of Defense, and the U.S. Navy, ITC's Stirling Solution for air conditioning in extreme environments enables an efficient solution that will greatly reduce electricity costs and provide high reliability despite harsh environment conditions.
